Migrants integration in Geo-Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald (UNESCO Global Geopark)

Where we are

The Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald is located in southwest Germany, covering the states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Würtemberg which includes 102 municipalities. Within Bergstraße-Odenwald you find representation of various geological and human history, this includes two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Geo-Naturpark offers a diverse landscape, from agricultural land to deep forests.

Territory

Being as central situated makes Bergstraße-Odenwald recreation accessible for millions of people. For now, the geopark offers a wider range of education, tours and field-trips in cooperation with various stakeholder. By taking part in RURITAGE, Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald will use heritage as sustainable tool to boost migrant’s integration in the area. This will be realized, among other things, with internships and guided tours for migrants.

Rural Heritage

The headquarters of Geo-Naturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald, located in Lorsch, will serve as the Rural Heritage Hub. Depending on the topic or the location of the activity, some meetings might be held in other places such as information centers within the Geo-Naturpark or offices of cooperation partners.
