Virtual course on Local Economic Development – Colombia

For three months starting in January 2022, the Federación Colombiana de Municípios will organize a digital course on Local Economic Development focusing on heritage conservation and land marketing.

Targeting local coffee producers, local tourism operators and public servants in Salento, Quindío and Palestina, Caldas, this course will be implemented in order to promote local empowerment amongst local producers and economic integration between sustainable tourism, food production and land marketing.

This first batch of LED Virtual Course will provide training to local actors to promote sustainable development in the municipalities. As well, these contents will be replicated in other municipalities to increase RURITAGE reach to other territories and promote heritage preservation in Colombia.

In a region composed mainly by rural population with almost non access to training and education, this is course is a way to promote capacity building and a better understating of heritage preservation and sustainable development.
