He has a background in psychology, computer science, and game theory. In the Centre for Systems Solutions, he worked on multiple international educational and research projects. His role was to design the social simulations and serious games that were a crucial part of the mentioned projects. Furthermore, he conducts educational workshops, most of them with the use of social simulations. In the Ruritage project, Michał Pająk was the main game designer in a team that created Ruritania social simulation in its all regional varieties. The goal of the activity was to help the stakeholders find common ground and develop a joint incentive to act, thus accelerating local actions. While exploring solutions in a simplified reality, stakeholders were able to build connections and get motivated to take action towards a common cause. Moreover, within the scope of the Ruritage project, he was responsible for delivering facilitator training, as well as assisting local teams in Izmir and Gornja Radgona in their workshops. In private life, he enjoys biking and works on finishing his Ph.D. dissertation in the area of game theory and sustainable management of common-pool resources.
