International Forest Art Trail

Every two years, since 2002, the “Verein für Internationale Waldkunst” organizes the International Forest Art Path in Darmstadt with a different theme. This path of Art is located in the Darmstädter forest district and can be considered as a forest adventure path, promoting the explorations by the visitors. Using art, the function and importance of forest ecosystems is brought to the visitors  attention in a new way.

This year, the theme of the art path was Ecology. 23 international artist from 9 countries (Belgium, England, France, Italy, Japan, Namibia, South Africa, USA and Germany) discussed the ecological changes, the importance of ecosystem services, cultural heritage and human connection to nature through their art. Artists have been accompanied by scientists to put scientific content/information supporting their art. This year, RURITAGE was invited to contribute to this years  Art Trail.
