Short description of the project:

RUBIZMO  is a 42 months project, funded by the EU programme for research and innovation Horizon 2020, which kicked off in May 2018. It aims to discover the vital ingredients for developing entrepreneurship and successful business models in high potential sectors such as food and agriculture, new bio-based value chains and ecosystem services. RUBIZMO experts are analysing business models from hundreds of previous funded and private enterprise initiatives. By examining the reasons for their success – or failure – in the context of their collaboration and support networks, the project will discover and share the key ingredients to recreate innovative business ideas all over Europe. The RUBIZMO success factors will be shared with a wide number of rural actors through a set of practical tools supporting collaboration, entrepreneurship and business development in rural communities. In addition, active coaching and peer-to-peer training will be provided to rural entrepreneurs and networks to instigate sustainable business transformation.

Liaison with RURITAGE:

In the framework of collaboration with RUBIZMO project, two RURITAGE Replicators: Appignano del Tronto and Izmir Buyuksehir Belediyesi presented their activities during the RUBIZMO online event ‘Café Talks: Bussiness Models in Agriculture’ that took place on 25 May 2021. Appignano del Tronto made a presentation on ‘Turning a problem into an opportunity: the Appignano del Tronto HUB for Community resilience’ and Izmir Buyuksehir Belediyesi talked about ‘Increasing rural tourism capacity in Kozak plateau, Izmir, Turkey’. More information about the event and RURITAGE presentations can be found here: https://rubizmo.eu/news.

RURITAGE and RUBIZMO are exploring the potential of holding a short joint virtual summer school with other EU projects focusing on rural enterprise/innovation to disseminate the training tools developed through this and other similar projects to rural enterprise advisers, agricultural advisers, trainers and stakeholders.

RURITAGE and RUBIZMO exchanged social media accounts to be regularly updated about new project results and upcoming activities of mutual interest.

Further networking activities will be developed.
